yEd

I decided to try a new software for block diagrams : yEd.

It looks cute but it is a piece of shit. It's slow, unfriendly and full of bugs :

- When you have several shapes selected and you try to change their color, it actually copies all attributes from the last one you clicked on, including legend, position, color, size, etc. so all your shapes are actually destroyed. The nice part is that undo doesn't work.

- It doesn't support infinite undo levels (doh !)

- Undo doesn't undo what the bugs do

- Sometimes it just goes bang and you lose all the menus and stuff. This happens when you do something really uncommon like opening a file, for instance.

- It can't compute text widths correctly so the text spills out of the boxes.

- Sometimes "Copy" stops working and all you can paste is the last thing you copied before this. You have to restart the program.

- It doesn't remember the last directory you opened a file in when you start it (which is a problem because you have to restart it often)

- It uses so much resources that it kills the audio

- You can't specify a default color or font. The default color is flashy orange. You can't change the color of several shapes at once since it destroys your document.

- The GUI is designed by retared people who don't have a keyboard on their PC, only a mouse, so there are no useful keyboard shortcuts, and who think Macs are the only computer in existence, so the mouse wheel and right mouse button aren't properly used anyway, and who also seem to think that making FOR loops with your fingers to change the color of 20 boxes (saving after each click) is a nice way to spend the day.

So, a nice representative of the new wave of Java bloatware like Azureus or Eclipse, which kinda work, but you need a big PC and lots of RAM and it will be slow anyway, and you need to put up with the GUI fuckups of the retarded designers.

Maybe this is because whatever version of the JRE I'm using isn't compatible. Who cares ? Just put an alert box telling me I have to download a new one, so that I might instead chose to install a non-java program that works...
